Ms. Agni Kyprianou was hired as the interior designer for my new restaurant and commercial bakery in Newtown, CT. She proved to be much more than just my designer. Agni handled all aspects of the project including architectural designs and acted as my General Contractor overseeing the entire project. Whilst I hired the plumber and electrician Agni proved to be an invaluable source for all the other contractors needed to complete the project. She was given the task to design a contemporary restaurant and bakery inside two historical buildings. She far surpassed my expectations, designing a bright, colourful interior, the likes of which has never been seen before in Newtown, CT. The buzz words I gave her to work with included, modern, hip, colourful, bright, conversational and boy did she come through. If you are looking for a designer who has it all, I have no hesitation in recommending this outstanding creative young lady. She is easy to work, always available and full of great advice and ideas. The greatest thing about Agni is that you can just let her run with your vision.

I would describe Agni in three words - responsive, customer-oriented, and tasteful. My renovation project included 2 complete bathrooms and painting of every interior room in a very tight timeline and budget. After we met and discussed what I like from a design perspective, she helped me pick and provided options for tiles, countertop, bathroom hardware, paint color, lights, mirrors, etc. Through the project, she was very timely in responding to my questions and offered alternatives if her initial suggestions did not meet my needs. Agni was very easy to work, and she was aligned with what I was trying to achieve for my project. Agni was a true polished professional. She was a wealth of ideas and helped us navigate through the bathroom remodeling process. She worked well with my contractors - the demolition crew, my master carpenter, my electrician & my tile layer. Agni recommended a superior plumber too. She patiently took the time to explain her vision and make sure it was in line with what we wanted. She helped me select the tile and designed a gorgeous design on the floor as well as 2 in-wall niches - 1 in the shower and 1 next to the bathtub. 

All in all, the project was a phenomenal success and I attritube that mainly to Agni's expertise and focus. I would highly recommend her for other projects.

This work involved the complete remodeling of a half bath on the main floor. New tile, a new sink and vanity, new lighting, a new mirror, paint and molding were all selected and purchased by Agni. We called in APK Designs when we decided our restaurant needed a small facelift. Our dining walls were painted in deep red and even though we liked the look for a long time we were ready for a drastic change. Agni suggested colors that were appropriate for an Italian family restaurant. She replaced the deep reds with sunny yellows, medium olive greens and accents of deep browns. The transformation was amazing.The lighter colors made the space feel larger but yet cozy and inviting.We have received many compliments from our customers. We never thought that just changing a color scheme could have such an impact, but we have actually noticed an increase in sales as well as an increase in the number of people who choose to dine in (compared to the same time last year). We are very happy with Agni's work. She was professional, understood the challenges of the space and worked closely with my husband to address our concerns and expectations. Agni has already given us some great ideas for increasing our seating space and improving the lighting so we have decided to hire APK Designs for the larger renovation we are planning to have in the near future.

Agni is a by far the best designer that we ever worked with! She tackled the family room in our center hall colonial house. The room has been very difficult to decorate in the past because of the high ceilings and multiple doors and windows. The fireplace provided a focal point but all of our previous furniture felt wrong and uncomfortable. We had worked with several design professionals in the past that left us disappointed. 

Agni recommended a dark, rich wall color that warmed the room, she provided us with a simple design that really works, she helped us shop for the furniture and accessories and put the room together beautifully. We have spent more time in the room in the last 2 weeks than in the previous 10 years! The room now works for watching TV, reading and sitting by the fireplace which where our main 3 goals. 

Through the whole project Agni listened to what we wanted, was infinitely patient with us, guided us to make choices that where a little out of our more traditional comfort zone but really worked in the room!

"We own a 1974-built Adirondack contemporary which we bought 2 years ago. We were in the midst of planning a renovation of the entire exterior - siding, roofing, insulation, windows, skylights, doors, patio, decking - when our architect "flaked" on us and abandoned the project. We approached Agni about taking over the project and finishing the "last few details" from the previous architect's plan. Rather than simply finishing the previous plan, she pointed out design flaws within it; specifically the use of too many materials - and the wrong type of materials - for use in a modern home. 1 month before the contractors were due to arrive, we took Agni's advice, scrapped the plan from the high-priced Danbury-based architects, and started afresh with a design that she came up with from scratch. The result was awesome. Not only does it complement the "bones" of the original house far more the previous plan did, it came in almost $20,000 cheaper! Not to say that it scrimped on materials - but it used premium materials judiciously. The results are a tongue and groove cedar and hardie-reveal panel modern home that fits our wooded location in Weston perfectly. Agni is a dream to work with and a true friend."
